19 colonies in Jalandhar regularised under new policy

Posted on :06 September, 2013

Jalandhar has become the first district in the state to regularise illegal colonies under the policy recently approved by the state government. Nineteen plots of colonies including New Uggi Enclave near Model Town were regularised by Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) today, said Chief Parliamentary Secretary K D Bhandhari. JDA Chief Administrator Vinay Bublani said they registered the plots after receiving the prescribed fee. Plot holders can get their plots regularised under the policy in the next 45 days, after which action will be taken against defaulters. He said that even if the builders who carved out such illegal colonies do not come forward with the fee, the plot holders can get their plots regularised. Action will be taken against builders in that case. JDA authorities said the plots would be regularised within four days of receiving the fee. Two counters have been opened in the JDA premises for the purpose. If a plot holder deposits 70 per cent of the fee, then all civic amenities will be provided except power connection.
