Joshi asks Jalandhar colonisers for regularisation of colonies

Posted on :06 September, 2013

Stating that the Punjab government aimed at overall development by regularising unauthorised colonies in the state, industry minister Anil Joshi told a delegation of property dealers and colonisers from Jalandhar on Saturday to abstain from opposing the government policy on the issue just for the sake of opposition and instead deposit requisite fees to get their coloniesregularised.

"The aim of the government is to ensure overall development by bringing unauthorised colonies and buildings under the planning framework so that residents of these colonies can be granted access to basic amenities," he said.

The colonisers who had developed these unauthorised habitations had promised to provide basic civic amenities to the residents, but failed to fulfill these promises, the minister pointed out.

Joshi maintained that seeing the problems faced by the residents of these unauthorised colonies, the government had given the colonisers a chance to get the same regularised.
The delegation was led by chief parliamentary secretary KD Bhandari.
